Diary of a broke college student

The reason I decided to start this blog is so that there is a place to share stories about the horrible reality of existing as a poor college student, and possible ways of averting the struggle. I recently was reading a book that I picked up from my parent's basement bookshelf. Although at this point I can't remember the name (I will later cite this information). It explained how, if you were desperate enough, you could mix 1 part bacon fat with 2 parts "ash that collects on grill burners if left uncleaned" to create a substitute for hand soap... "everybody wash their hands for dinner!". While I am still skeptical that this would be safe, sanitary, and/or even work, the idea of taking such drastic means for monetary conservation is nonetheless intriguing.
